General Rules

Character Breaking

Should any complications arise, we'll immerse ourselves fully in the scenario and handle it accordingly. Players are encouraged to submit reports if necessary, ensuring they remain in character at all times. Remember, you can use the out-of-character chat (/me /OOC) to notify players if they're straying from the rules within the game world. We'll maintain the integrity of the roleplay without resorting to actions that might entice others to break character. Let's keep the experience authentic and enjoyable for everyone involved.

Cop Baiting

Cop baiting involves provoking or antagonising law enforcement officers to initiate a chase or confrontation. This behaviour is deemed non-roleplay (non-RP) as it does not reflect realistic actions one would take in real life. Engaging in cop baiting is strictly prohibited, and individuals found engaging in such behaviour will face disciplinary action, including potential banning from the game. Let's maintain a respectful and immersive roleplay environment by refraining from cop-baiting.

Random Death Match (RDM)

Random Death Match (RDM) refers to eliminating or killing another player without establishing a roleplay scenario or valid interaction beforehand. In our roleplay environment, engaging in meaningful interactions with other players is essential before resorting to such drastic actions. Killing another player without a proper or valid reason disrupts the immersive experience and undermines the integrity of the game. Let's prioritise establishing meaningful interactions and roleplay scenarios before considering any form of conflict or violence. This ensures a more engaging and enjoyable experience for all participants.

Vehicle DeathMatch (VDM)

Engaging in Vehicle DeathMatch (VDM), which involves intentionally running over and killing other players with vehicles or colliding with other players' vehicles without roleplaying the situation, is strictly prohibited in our community. This behaviour disrupts the immersive roleplay experience and threatens all participants' enjoyment and safety. It is important to uphold roleplay standards by engaging in meaningful interactions and scenarios before resorting to any form of vehicular conflict. Violating this rule may result in severe consequences, including the possibility of being banned from the game. Let's prioritise respectful and immersive roleplay to ensure a positive experience for everyone involved.

Meta Gaming

Meta Gaming, which involves using real-life knowledge to influence in-game actions or gain an advantage in roleplay situations, is strictly prohibited and considered a bannable offence. Additionally, engaging in normal roleplay with friends while using third-party communication platforms such as Discord voice channels is also against the rules. Players are not allowed to join any third-party Discord servers while actively playing on the in-game server.

An example of meta-gaming would be if a player's in-game friends are not present, and the player uses a live stream or other out-of-game communication to gain information or assistance, such as navigating to illegal locations. This behaviour violates the rules as it relies on external knowledge to influence in-game actions.

Another example is watching a player's stream and then going to the location shown in the stream to create issues in-game. This constitutes meta-gaming and is not allowed.

Players must also roleplay injuries realistically, refraining from sprinting or engaging in combat immediately after leaving the hospital. Using a phone or radio while incapacitated or restrained (e.g., handcuffed) is also prohibited.

Furthermore, repeatedly changing a character's appearance or using the /stuck command without first providing evidence of a bug or issue via screenshot in the designated Discord channel is considered power gaming and may result in a ban.

Fail RP

Fail RP, or failing to roleplay realistic scenarios, is strictly prohibited and may result in a ban. This includes actions such as performing unrealistic stunts with vehicles, taking unrealistic ramps, or engaging in actions that defy real-life limitations, such as jumping off a three-story building and running away unharmed. Maintaining a realistic approach to roleplay enhances the immersive experience for all players and ensures a fair and authentic gameplay environment. Let's uphold the standards of realistic roleplay to create a more enjoyable and engaging experience for everyone involved.

Low Effort RP

Low Effort RP, characterized by insufficiently engaging in roleplaying scenarios, is strictly prohibited and may result in disciplinary action, including a ban. An example of low-effort roleplay is resorting to violence, such as shooting, for minor infractions like accidentally bumping into your car. Prioritizing gunplay over meaningful roleplay detracts from the immersive experience and disrupts the integrity of the game environment. Let's strive to uphold the standards of quality roleplay by engaging in meaningful interactions and scenarios, enriching the experience for all participants.

Combat Logging

Combat Logging, the act of quitting or exiting the game during an ongoing roleplay scenario, is strictly prohibited and will result in severe consequences, including a ban. For instance, if your character is downed, in the middle of an RP situation, or facing conviction, you are not allowed to disconnect from the game to avoid the consequences of the roleplay scenario. Doing so disrupts the flow of roleplay, undermines the integrity of the game, and creates an unfair advantage. Let's ensure that all players adhere to the rules regarding combat logging to maintain a fair and immersive roleplay environment for everyone.

Combat Storing

Combat Storing, the act of storing items or vehicles while engaged in an active roleplay situation, is strictly prohibited and will result in severe consequences, including a ban. For example, if law enforcement or a gang is pursuing you, storing your vehicle in a garage or stashing your weapons to avoid confrontation is not allowed.

Furthermore, repairing vehicles during an active situation is also prohibited. This includes repairing vehicles using any method other than a repair kit. Engaging in combat storing or repairing vehicles during active situations disrupts the flow of roleplay, creates an unfair advantage, and undermines the integrity of the game environment.

New Rule Life (NRL)

"If your character is downed and respawns at the hospital, they are considered to have forgotten all events leading up to being downed in the current scenario. As a result, you are not permitted to rejoin the current situation.
It's important to note that you may not respawn if you've been informed that law enforcement or emergency medical services (EMS) are en route to your location. Similarly, if you're in an active situation, you are not allowed to respawn. The only exception to this rule is if you are entirely alone, and your injuries were not inflicted by another player. In such cases, you should make a local call using "/911" to alert others to your situation, for example, stating, "There is an unconscious man on the side of Great Ocean Highway."

Fear RP

You must always prioritize your character's life as if it were your last. When faced with a clear disadvantage, certain guidelines must be followed to ensure a realistic and immersive roleplay experience:

- Civilians are required to show fear towards gang members wearing bandanas, regardless of whether the gang member is alone or with others.

For example:
- If a gun is pointed at the back of your head, you must comply with the demands of the individual holding the weapon and exhibit fear in response.
- Attempting to kidnap or take a gang member wearing a gang bandana as a hostage is prohibited. This is because the member may call for backup using a radio, posing a significant risk to civilians. Therefore, civilians must show fear towards them and refrain from taking such actions.

Random Looting

Looting any player without adequately establishing a roleplay scenario is strictly prohibited in our community. Examples of prohibited behaviour include:

- Randomly cuffing a player and looting them without a valid reason.
- Looting a player without any justification or roleplay interaction.

Such actions undermine the immersive roleplay experience and can lead to a negative gameplay environment. It's essential to engage in meaningful interactions and roleplay scenarios before considering any form of looting. Let's uphold the standards of quality roleplay to ensure fairness and enjoyment for everyone involved.

AFK Looting

Looting any player while they are AFK (Away From the Keyboard) is strictly prohibited and constitutes a bannable offence. Taking advantage of a player's absence to loot their character disrupts the fair and respectful gameplay environment we strive to maintain. Let's ensure that all interactions within the game are conducted with integrity and respect for fellow players, adhering to the rules and regulations in place.

OOC

Out-of-character (OOC) chat is restricted to addressing RP-stopping technical issues only, and it should be reserved for matters that cannot be resolved in a support channel through Discord. Examples of acceptable OOC messages include:

- "/OOC spawn dead"
- "/OOC Inventory is not opening."

These messages are appropriate because they pertain to technical issues that directly impact gameplay and cannot be resolved through regular in-game channels or Discord support. It's important to use OOC chat responsibly and only for matters that genuinely require assistance related to gameplay mechanics or technical issues.

LOOC

Local Out-of-Character (LOOC) chat is designated for use during RP situations when you need to convey information or address an issue that cannot be roleplayed in any other way. An example of appropriate usage is:

- "/looc Please wait, my microphone is currently not working."

This allows you to communicate with other players regarding an out-of-character situation without disrupting the ongoing roleplay. It's essential to use LOOC chat responsibly and only when necessary to maintain the immersion and integrity of the roleplay environment.

Character Mixing

Character Mixing, the practice of using information acquired in one character and applying it to another character, is strictly prohibited and not tolerated in our community. Examples of character mixing include:

- Utilizing information known by your criminal character, such as the location of drugs, while roleplaying as your law enforcement (PD) character.- Utilizing information known by your criminal character, such as the location of drugs, while roleplaying as your law enforcement (PD) character.
- Incorporating personal feelings or emotions into in-character behaviour, such as allowing real-life frustrations to affect the behaviour of your cheerful character.

Such actions compromise the integrity of the roleplay experience and can lead to unfair advantages or unrealistic interactions. Let's maintain the separation between characters and avoid character mixing to ensure a fair and immersive roleplay environment for all participants.

No Toxicity

Engaging in toxic behaviour on streams, YouTube chat, Discord, or private messages is strictly prohibited and will not be tolerated within our community.

No Abuse in Public Spaces
Engaging in abusive or toxic behaviour, especially in public places, is strictly prohibited. This includes but is not limited to, verbally abusing police officers, government officials, or other players in any public area. Such behaviour disrupts the community experience and will not be tolerated.
If caught abusing others in public, the offender may face a temporary ban. Upon being unbanned, if the behaviour continues, it could result in a permanent ban from the server.

Extreme Toxicity

Poking Scenarios
If you initiate an interaction using abusive language to “poke” or provoke another character, you will not be able to use /ooc to report toxicity in that situation, and no action will be taken by moderators. In gang scenarios that follow the 18+ policy, using /ooc is also limited if abusive language is used to start the exchange. However, if you avoid any abusive language and encounter toxicity from another player, you may use /ooc to request respectful communication.
It's important to highlight and remember the following:

- If both parties engage in abusive language, regardless of who initiated it, both individuals will face consequences. This ensures fairness and accountability for all involved.

- If you find yourself in a situation where abusive language is being used, quietly leave the area, submit a ticket, and provide your point of view (POV). Necessary actions will be taken by the moderators.

- If you respond with abusive language after being subjected to it, action will be taken against both parties involved.

Let's all strive to maintain a respectful and positive environment within our community, where toxic behaviour is swiftly addressed and eliminated.

Four Man Rule

1. Maximum Participants: Criminal activities are limited to four players maximum at a time. This includes anyone providing communication support, such as a spotter on the radio, who counts as part of your group.

2. Returning to Turf: You are not allowed to bring an active situation back to your turf where you may find a larger group waiting, such as friends or a gang of 15 members.

3. Engaging Larger Groups: When a group of four engages with a group of four or more, they are knowingly engaging a bigger group. The larger group does not have to drop numbers to defend themselves.

4. Robbery Participants: A maximum of four players, including any external backup, can participate in a robbery.

Revenge RP

Seeking revenge on individuals who have shot or killed you after you were completely incapacitated is not tolerated by the New Life Rule (NLR).

Under the New Life Rule, you are expected to abide by the following:

- Upon being completely killed or incapacitated, you must refrain from seeking revenge or taking any actions against those who were involved in your death.
- Instead, you should respect the NLR by avoiding interactions or conflicts with the individuals who were responsible for your demise.
- Focus on engaging in new roleplay scenarios and interactions, leaving behind any grudges or conflicts from your previous life.

Perma Death

Forcing someone to permanently retire their character is considered a bannable offence within our community.

If you decide it's time for your character to undergo permadeath, the process should be role-played out appropriately with Emergency Medical Services (EMS) or doctors when they find you. You can use the /me command to provide the EMS or doctor characters with the necessary indicators for the permadeath scenario.

For example:
- "/me has no pulse."
- "/me has died due to their injuries."

Once you have completed the roleplay of the permadeath situation with your character, you cannot continue roleplaying with that character thereafter.

Robbing

1. Robbery Frequency: Robbing players should be well-thought-out and uncommon. It should not be a default part of your character's roleplay to rob people simply because they are deemed as scumbags.

2. Chain Robbing: Chain robbing, defined as repeatedly targeting the same location without attempting to engage in roleplay with law enforcement, is not tolerated. This includes repeatedly robbing Jewelry stores, Convenience stores, and Banks without any meaningful roleplay interactions.

3. Tsunami (Server Restart) Protocol: When a tsunami warning appears, indicating a server restart, all bank robberies, Vangelico hits, and convenience store robberies should be halted. It is not permitted to continue hitting these locations while a tsunami warning is in effect.

4. Robbing AFK Players: Robbing someone while they are AFK will result in a ban.

5. Initiating RP to Rob: Initiation of roleplay to rob a person is not allowed.

Fake Hostage

1. Hostages: Using your friends as hostages for a robbery is strictly prohibited.

2. Kidnapping AFK Individuals: Kidnapping someone who is AFK is also not allowed.

Hostage Scenario

1. No-Fear Roleplay: Simply saying "Put your hands up" in a crowded place does not automatically make someone a hostage. Doing so without proper roleplay and justification is considered a form of no-fear roleplay.

2. Roleplay Before Taking Hostage: If you are considering taking someone as a hostage in a crowded area, you should engage in roleplay with them first to convince them to leave the area voluntarily. Only then can you proceed to take them as a hostage in a suitable location.

3. Hostaging Workers on Duty: Holding workers hostage while they are on duty is not allowed. Workers should be able to perform their duties without the threat of being taken hostage.

Fake Cop RP

1. Fake Cop RP: Engaging in fake cop RP is strictly prohibited on our server. Doing so will result in a ban.

2. Emergency Services Scenario End: The scenario is considered over once you are handcuffed and brought to Pillbox/MRPD.

3. Hostage Situations at Pillbox/MRPD: You cannot take somebody hostage to trade them for suspects at Pillbox/MRPD. Additionally, starting a shootout at Pillbox/MRPD to break out suspects in custody is not allowed. These actions have significant consequences for the entire city, especially when Pillbox is under lockdown.

4. Breaking Out of Police Custody: You are not allowed to break someone out of police custody under any circumstances.

5. Stealing Emergency Vehicles: You cannot steal emergency vehicles unless you obtain one through a roleplay scenario. (Does not mean to lockpick a lock vehicle) This does not include holding up EMS or PD workers to gain the vehicle without prior roleplay. Failing to do so will result in Jail on the spot and doing it again will result in a ban.

Smuggling

Smuggling items from PD, EMS, and Mechanic armoury or evidence stash and selling them is strictly prohibited on our server. Engaging in such activities will not be tolerated and will result in severe consequences, including a character wipe and ban.

Maintaining the integrity and security of items stored in official armouries and evidence stashes is crucial for the fair and balanced gameplay experience of all participants. Any attempts to exploit or misuse these resources for personal gain undermine the core principles of our community.

We enforce strict measures to uphold the rules and regulations governing the handling and distribution of items from official facilities. Violations of these rules will be met with swift and decisive action to maintain the integrity of our server environment.

Item Doubling (Bug Exploits)

Exploiting game bugs or abusing in-game mechanics to duplicate items, currency, or any in-game valuables, also known as item doubling, is strictly prohibited on our server. Engaging in such behaviour gives an unfair advantage to the player and undermines the integrity of the gameplay experience.

Any player found violating this rule by participating in item doubling will face severe consequences, including:

1. Complete character wipe, resulting in the loss of all in-game assets, such as money, items, paid vehicles, and membership privileges.
2. No refunds will be provided for any lost progress or acquired assets as a result of the character wipe.

We enforce strict measures to ensure fair and balanced gameplay for all participants. Exploiting game bugs or abusing mechanics for personal gain will not be tolerated, and appropriate actions will be taken to maintain the integrity of our server environment.

Safe Zone Violations

Selling drugs or engaging in any illegal activities within a safe zone is strictly prohibited and will result in a ban from the server.

Places like Pillbox, Police Station, Court House, PDM and business areas like Tuners, UWU Cafe, Burger-shot, and Koi Restaurant are considered a safe zone and there will be no hostage or crime situation happening there!

Illegal work, including dealing with illegal items or holding gang meetings, is also prohibited within safe zones.

Any player can escort, carry, or remove another player from a safe zone after giving a warning, provided that 15 minutes have elapsed.

Safezone camping, where players linger within safe zones to gain an unfair advantage, is also considered a bannable offence.

Additionally, landing helicopters in safe zones other than designated helipads will result in a ban for three days.

These rules are in place to maintain a fair and enjoyable gameplay experience for all participants and to ensure that safe zones remain secure areas free from illegal activities and disruptions.

Drive-By

Drive-by shootings, where players shoot while riding in a vehicle, are not allowed on our server. This rule prohibits any form of shooting while in a moving vehicle.

The restriction on drive-bys is in place to promote fair and balanced gameplay, ensuring that combat encounters are conducted in a manner that allows for meaningful roleplay and engagement between players.

By adhering to this rule, we aim to create a more immersive and enjoyable gaming experience for all participants while maintaining a respectful and safe environment within our server.

Scam RP

Scam roleplay is permitted on our server, but it comes with certain limitations to ensure fair gameplay and prevent excessive exploitation:

- The amount that can be scammed should be less than or equal to 80,000 in-game currency.
- If a player is found engaging in scam roleplay where the amount exceeds 80,000, they will face a ban lasting one week.

These restrictions are in place to maintain balance and prevent any unfair advantage gained through scam roleplay. We encourage players to engage in roleplay responsibly and within the boundaries of our server rules.

Gunplay over Roleplay

Engaging in low-effort roleplay and prioritising gunplay over immersive roleplay experiences is strictly prohibited on our server. Players found displaying such behaviour will face severe consequences, including an immediate ban lasting one week.

We uphold high standards for roleplay quality and expect all players to contribute positively to the immersive atmosphere of our server. Low-effort roleplay and excessive focus on gunplay detract from the overall enjoyment of the gaming experience and undermine the integrity of our community.

By enforcing this rule, we aim to foster a welcoming and engaging environment where players can immerse themselves fully in meaningful roleplay interactions without resorting to violence as a primary means of engagement.

Third-Party Interference

Interfering in a roleplay situation between two different parties is strictly prohibited on our server and will result in disciplinary action, including a ban.

For example, if two individuals are engaged in a roleplay conflict and one is killed, it is considered third-party interference if another player intervenes to loot the downed individual without proper roleplay justification.

We emphasize the importance of respecting ongoing roleplay interactions between players and refraining from actions that disrupt or detract from the immersive experience of others.

Join WFS in between Situation

Joining the Waiting For Support (WFS) channel in the middle of a situation, before it is fully resolved, is not permitted. Doing so will result in no support being provided by staff, and offenders may face a ban lasting three days.

This rule is in place to ensure that staff resources are effectively allocated and that ongoing roleplay situations are not disrupted by premature requests for assistance. It encourages players to fully engage in roleplay scenarios and seek staff support only when necessary and appropriate.

Banned Player

If you are banned from our server, you will not receive any kind of support in the Waiting For Support (WFS) channel.

Instead, if you have been banned from our server, you can create a support ticket to address any queries or concerns you may have.

It's important to note that if you are banned from our server, you will only join the WFS channel if requested to do so by the support team.

Please be aware that joining the WFS channel after being banned from our server will result in an additional three days of ban.

This policy ensures that resources are allocated efficiently to assist active players and maintain the integrity of our support system.

PD Looting

During a code red situation, players are permitted to loot only PD ammo and items that are publicly available. However, this looting is allowed only after 30 minutes from the initiation of the code red situation.

Players found looting PD items other than ammo before the 30-minute mark or attempting to loot restricted PD items will face a ban.

Looting PD while alive is not acceptable in any scenario.

This rule is in place to ensure fair gameplay and prevent exploitation during code-red situations. Adhering to these guidelines promotes a balanced and enjoyable roleplay experience for all participants involved.

Prior Status

If the priority (prior) status is currently in progress, players are not permitted to initiate any situation involving the police department (PD), such as a store or bank robberies, drop phone scenarios, etc. Initiating any such situation while the crime status is active will result in a ban lasting four days

This rule is in place to ensure that players respect the ongoing priority status and avoid disrupting the roleplay experience for others. It promotes a fair and orderly gameplay environment where all participants can engage in meaningful interactions without unnecessary interruptions.

OOC Ranting

In the context of TAJ Roleplay, "OOC Ranting" refers to expressing frustrations, complaints, or grievances out of character (OOC) in a manner that disrupts the in-game roleplay environment. This behaviour is no longer allowed. TAJ Roleplay aims to provide an immersive experience where players engage in character-driven interactions, and OOC communication is typically reserved for non-roleplay matters.

Ranting OOC can disrupt the roleplay atmosphere and negatively impact the overall experience for players. It may involve complaining about other players, staff decisions, or server issues, which are better addressed through appropriate channels such as private messages to staff members or designated forums.

It's important to keep OOC communication respectful and constructive. If players have concerns or issues, they should follow the server's rules and guidelines for reporting problems or reaching out to server administrators more appropriately and constructively. This ensures a positive and enjoyable roleplay experience for everyone involved.
